Noises Off

Backstage Onstage
I wanted the audience to feel what it is like to be part of the theatrical process. Working alongside the other areas, we incorporated parts of the theatrical process that the audience doesn’t always get to be part of. Act I, I wanted the audience to feel like they were witnessing a rehearsal utilizing more top light as if work lights were on. Act II, I wanted the audience to feel like they are actually backstage by utilizing the look of “backstage blues”. Act III, finally in a performance look to differentiate from Act I from the rehearsal look.

Everything is Falling Apart
At the end of the show, everything is falling apart! Part of my design was to figure out how to drop a working light from the grid and another light look like it exploded. The actor caught the light after it was released to give his final line with his spotlight.
